Berth (traffic lane width): 110M length., can accomodate 02 bunkers/ barges (100tons/ 60m length) mooring, loading/unloading at the same time.

- The depth of the river ( upper Saigon River is national water way, class III ) to near APSTP (AP river port ) can naviable river barge up to 800 dwt, avergare depth 6.1 m, turning radius 700 m.

- Distance from Saigon Port to AP river port about 75 km. Maximum air draught at Binh Loi Bridge on low tide about 3.5 m ( semi daily tide ).

- Time travel from An Tay Port to Saigon port appr. 6hrs.

- By 2010, transportation fee: est. USD250 / 20�GP � USD370 / 40�GP, subject to bunker Adjustment Factor. However, this cost is surely more economical than inland transportation.

- Clearance at Binh loi Bridge at high tide is only abt. 1.5 m , but we will avoid passing bridge during high tide. As the depth of river at Binh loi Bridge is 9 m, we can plan for vessels passing during low tide. Take note that we have two tidals per day , each time last abt 5 hrs.

- Vessels air draft will abt 2.3 m max, therefore we feel assure the project workable.

- There�re 6 bridges from An Tay Port to Saigon Port. Other bridges are not the big matter. Once the project comes to have big volume and busy services, we may design special barges to cope with the situation. If we don�t use this method of carrying container / cargo in/out area , the road will be congested when all the factories start their operation , and the cost on using road services ( trucks ) will be huge and un-forecasted.
